Nature in the Barossa Valley
Just an hour away from Adelaide, the Barossa is an ideal getaway for day trips, overnight visits or a long-term holiday. Most people would know that this region produces some of Australia's finest wines and some may also be aware that the food experiences found in the valley are second to none.
All-in-all the Barossa Valley is perfect for those who love to indulge. Apart from the many and varied cellar door experiences, we've discovered that there are other attractions in the valley definitely worth exploring. A walk through the delightful Kaiser Stuhl Conservation Park will reveal some fantastic valley views and, at sunset, the kangaroos come out to play. Visit the Whispering Wall or enjoy a sunset cocktail on top of Mengler's Hill.
Another way to appreciate the beauty of the Barossa is to see it from the air. We recommend trying either a helicopter joy flight or a hot air balloon flight at dawn, either will reveal a totally new perspective of this region. Walkers will enjoy the Heysen Trail which passes through the centre of the valley and, after you've worked up an appetite, why not stop in and savour the delights at Maggie Beer's Farm Shop near Seppeltsfield.
