Our metropolitan beaches have always been a popular spot for locals and tourists but how times have changed in less than a century! A photograph of Brighton Beach in 1915 shows that even on a hot February day, Victorian principles still applied. By the 1940's men we're legally allowed to wear topless bathing costumes and women sported fashionable one piece outfits, allowing many more people to actually venture into the sea!
