SA History on Glass - Luna Park

Information

Adelaide was the first city in Australia to have a Luna Park. Humble in comparison to it's Coney Island namesake, the amusement centre was nevertheless a huge drawcard on the Glenelg Foreshore. The largest roller coaster ever seen in our state, the Big Dipper, offered a thrilling ride for nine pence while for just sixpence carnival lovers could explore the magic caves, Noah's ark or visit the Goofy House with its haunted swing see and flea circus.
